Karatachi Castle
Karatachi - jo

Castle
Stamp
Also known as :
The sign marking the spot of Karatachi Castle.  There isn't much else on the site, it's only a clearing on a ridge.  This castle, along with another called Taka-jo, was associated with Hakumai-jo, and served as an auxilliary point, what might be called in modern military terms, a Forward Observation Post.

Access to the site is via a steep trail, difficult to find, and not market on any tourist maps that I had.  The trail is cleared about once a year, and it's behind an orange grove.  This friendly orange farmer, who owns the aforementioned grove, guided me to the site, and was explaining what it said.
